Be #RootedEveryday

Our partners are working to support vital landscapes in the Mediterranean that are maintained by through cultural practices by rural entrepreneurs. These traditional practitioners work hard trying to make a living from small sustainable farms, roaming from pasture to pasture with livestock so they can graze, from artisanal fishing on small boats or from food production like cheese making.

Their wares are of high value but all too often their dedication to their craft and high quality of their products aren’t valued. We want to change that with your help because we know that the environment in the eco-systems where these practitioners are working is thriving away from intensive farming and industry.

Being #RootedEveryday is good for both people and planet and we want it to stay that way.

Who’s Behind Rooted Everyday?

The Rooted Everyday campaign is funded by the MAVA Foundation and is run by a core team made up of environmentalists who are working with the projects eco-regions and partners from across the Mediterranean.

Our mission is to reverse the loss of biodiversity which is caused when people stop cultural practices that have existed for generations. By working with Mediterranean critical eco-regions and partners we aim to show the value traditional ways of life can have in protecting our environment. By supporting Rooted Everyday projects and campaigns you’re standing up for conservation and Mediterranean heritage.

The Rooted Everyday eco-regions are in Lemnos in Greece led by the Mediterranean Institute for Nature and Anthropos (MedINA), the High Atlas mountains in Morocco led by the Global Diversity Foundation (GDF), the Shouf Biosphere Reserve in Lebanon led by the Society for the Protection of Nature Lebanon (SPNL), and the Dehesas and Montados in Spain and Portugal led by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). DiversEarth is also part of our core team and we’re joined by partners working on even more projects across the Mediterranean.
